Biological and Environmental Analysis
NorthStar Environmental provides a wide range of biological services to assist clients with project planning, permitting, and implementation. The NorthStar Environmental biologists have diverse experience in the areas of ecology, developmental biology, wetland restoration projects and preparation of studies in support and CEQA/NEPA documents. Our biological team also provides compliance review and mitigation monitoring of projects and works closely with federal and state agencies. Our thorough understanding of biological and wetland resources facilitates project planning to minimize costly permitting and mitigation requirements and to expedite project implementation.
Our biologists have extensive experience surveying for special‐status species including but not limited to Swainson’s hawk, giant garter snake willow‐flycatcher, spotted owl, various bat species, northern goshawk, mesocarnivores, western burrowing owl, foothill and mountain yellow legged frog, California red‐legged frog, western pond turtle, vernal pool invertebrate . Our staff holds both federal and state letters of authorization to conduct endangered species surveys for botanical and biological resources as well as section 10(a)(1)(A) recovery permit to survey for vernal pool invertebrates. Additionally we have an in‐house International Society of Arboriculture certified arborist to conduct tree resource surveys and inventories.
