City of Oroville - Montgomery and Bridge Street Right of Way
This project was a Boundary Survey completed in October of 2008 for the City of Oroville. The purpose of the survey was to establish the street right-of-way lines to facilitate the acquisition of additional right-of-way for the construction of street improvements at the intersection of Montgomery Street and Bridge Street in Oroville. This boundary survey was complicated by the fact that the underlying maps were all done around the turn of the century. These maps were incomplete and missing many important bearings and distances. There were very limited modern day surveys available in the area. Extensive research was conducted and detailed corner and evidence searches were completed. Extensive antiquated occupation and unrecorded documents were recovered and evaluated to complete this survey. Monuments were set, plats and descriptions of the acquired right-of-way areas were prepared and a five page Record of Survey Map was filed at the County of Butte. The primary team members for this project were James M. Herrick PLS, Mark R. Herrick PLS.
