Description: Feather Falls Casino had been growing at an impressive rate with the recent 2005 opening of an on-site hotel it exceeded its comfortable parking ratio.  Though the Casino has sufficient lands every minute of travel time in a surface parking lot is one less minute of gambling thus the Casino entered into a design build contract with HMH for the construction of a new 800 car 5 story parking structure and attached pedestrian bridge.  As a part of the design team NorthStar Engineering was responsible for all site work and layout including a new Casino ring road, relocating the existing truck dock, site parking modifications to allow for entrance and exiting to parking structure, and re-routing sewer lines and storm drainage around the new structure.  Of note was the need for 20’+ tall site retaining walls (the bottom 2 stories of the parking structure we built in a hillside).   Construction on the parking garage was completed in spring 2009, on time and under budget.

The second phase of this project was the design of a 60,000 sf Event Center capable of hosting a range of events including boxing, cage fights, concerts, dances, and stand up among other things.  NorthStar Engineering prepared complete on-site site plans including general grading, 16’+ retaining walls, truck dock and utility yard, parking lot, ADA access, and utility connections to support the building.  The construction of this building is on-hold pending additional funding or revenue generation by the tribe.  An additional part of this project was over all master planning including locating the next hotel expansion, future parking areas, and determining the exact locations of the parking garage and event center to best fit the Casinos site.
